Buying and Selling Used Industrial Process Plants and Lines

At Perry we don’t just deal with individual items of used equipment, we also buy and sell industrial process plants and lines worldwide.

Buying a Used Plant

Our knowledgeable team will work closely with you to find a suitable used process plant facility.  We’ll arrange all site visits, negotiate the buy price on your behalf, and can offer assistance with the dismantling, transportation and re-location of the plant from it’s existing location to it’s new home.  So, why consider buying a used plant?  The main benefits include:

Cost Savings

A used plant is significantly less expensive than purchasing new.

Reduced Lead Times

Transporting a used plant from one site to your own is much quicker than commissioning a new line and waiting for it to be manufactured, assembled and installed.

Increased Revenues

Reduced lead times mean production can be started in a fraction of the time.

Environmental Benefits

Reduced emissions, usage of raw materials and waste all ensure that your companies’ environmental targets can be met.

Merck Ltd, UK
Contact: Peter Haines, Supply Manager

“Perry Process were appointed Merck’s sole managing agent, responsible for the sale of all our main plant items at our West Quay Road Site in Poole, Dorset. A review was conducted internally on the most effective process to sell the assets to generate the optimum amount of funds for Merck. Many potential customers approached Merck prior to the appointment of Perry with sealed bid offers for equipment. These bids were appraised and it was concluded that the offers received were low. It was then decided to tender the management of the sale of assets. Perry Process was successful in this tender. All the assets were then viewed by Perry who agreed a minimum sale value with Merck. The experience proved that this decision was correct, as the original bids have been far exceeded. The agreed minimum for all the assets has been met, with the majority generating funds greater than the agreed minimum. I would have no hesitation in recommending Perry Process as a professional organisation capable of selling many high value assets.”

Novartis Nutrition Ltd, UK
Contact: Ken Blackmore, Manufacturing & Engineering Operations Manager

“May I take this opportunity to thank your team at Newton Aycliffe personally for the way in which Perry’s assisted us in managing the sale and disposal of our assets following the closure of this site. The timetable for both the plant sale and removal phases of the disposal programme, particularly following the auction stage, were extremely tight. This did create some demanding challenges for both of our companies. Perry were always extremely focused on the job in hand and by good attention to detail and working closely together with us the plant removal objective were achieved. I can confirm my Company is more than pleased with the overall outcome and I would thank you and your team once again in assisting us in our closure project.”

Novartis Pharma GmbH, Nuremberg, Germany
Contact: Dr Volker Hartman, PharmaConsulting

“Novartis had to remove all of the production equipment and infrastructure from their pharmaceutical plant in Nuremberg. Perry and Cohen/Netherlands handled the project in a professional manner. Perry purchased the equipment, arranged for the auctioneer and auction sale, and made sure all of the equipment was removed on time or ahead of schedule and that the premises were left in a clean and safe condition. I would like to thank you again for all your help and cooperation on the equipment project. I can recommend Perry for future projects with Novartis and other companies.”

DS Industries, Denmark

“Perry were appointed sales agents by DS Industries to sell three plants; Fatty Acid, Chlor Alkali and Power Plant. All three plants were successfully sold and dismantled and the complete job was finalised by Perry in the agreed time frame.”

Contact: Michael Sagin, Asset Sales Manager

“Please note that the DuPont Asset Management Group has worked with Perry UK on a number of excess equipment projects. I have found all the people from the Perry UK office very professional, responsive, and ethical. I believe we will continue to use Perry UK and their partners, if our Asset Management Group has additional excess equipment/plants to process.”
